PagePath Technologies and Brown & Joseph Announce Credit Collection E-Commerce Alliance

Aurora, IL. (Nov. 2, 2000) – Brown & Joseph, Ltd., the premier credit collection agency in the U.S. for printers, publishers, and graphic artists, and PagePath Technologies, the leading provider of online print commerce tools for the graphic arts industry, announced today that they have integrated their respective online systems.

As a result, the customers of PagePath’s MyOrderDesk™ system will have automated access to top of the line receivables management services at significantly reduced cost. Brown & Joseph joins PagePath, printLeader, and Discount Labels in the Odyssey Initiative, an alliance aimed at furthering integration of print-related workflow activities on the Internet. Besides the opportunity for the customers of Brown & Joseph and PagePath to enhance their Internet-to-operations workflow, the agreement includes joint marketing efforts by the two companies.

As part of the MyOrderDesk e-commerce system, PagePath has created and is hosting an automated Brown & Joseph credit collection submission system for printers with late paying customers. Brown & Joseph will in turn offer the MyOrderDesk customers a substantial savings in collection fees, as well as access to Brown & Joseph’s recovery services and customized reporting system.

Brown & Joseph, rated as the premier receivables management service, operates a sophisticated and highly effective system designed to maximize the amount recovered. The resulting increase to the bottom line is frequently noticed within 60-90 days. Using a systematic and methodical approach to the handling of receivables, Brown & Joseph provides a professional, tactful, and highly effective service. Brown & Joseph’s primary goal is customer good will, as well as receivables collection. An integral part of the service is its customized reporting system.

PagePath’s MyOrderDesk is a private labeled e-commerce solution used by graphic arts service providers such as print shops, copy centers, reprographers and screen printers for managing electronic orders, file transfer, documents, and collaborative communication in on online environment. MyOrderDesk is accessed either through the graphic arts service provider’s Web site or via a free Web site provided by PagePath. MyOrderDesk was recently voted “Product of the Year” by the membership of PrintImage International, an organization of 2500 quick print, copying, and small commercial printing members, located in the United States, Canada and several foreign countries. The Odyssey Initiative’s goal is to benefit member companies’ clients by creating more workflow integration, thereby reducing costs, saving time and increasing profits.

“Brown & Joseph is a great resource for PagePath’s customer’s, many of whom struggle with inadequate receivable management. The assistance of a professional collection firm can make a huge difference on small, difficult-to-collect accounts as well as large commercial delinquencies. By providing an easy to use receivable recovery system in our e-commerce service, we believe we can help our customers reduce their outstanding assets and make more money. PagePath’s growing client base will find ClickPrint to be a natural addition,” said Steve Ciesemier, Vice President of sales & Marketing at PagePath.

“You begin to lose money on an account whenever payment is not received within net terms. As the account gets older, the ability to collect decreases and your losses from an inability to use the money increases. If, for example, you are operating at a 4% profit margin, $1,000 that cannot be collected requires $25,000 in additional sales to simply break even. Our unique system has achieved collection of 90% of claims less than 3 months past due.” said Chris Cappuccilli, President of Brown & Joseph.
